Really liked the Tony Gilroy profile—screenwriter, director, Michel Clayton—in the March 16, '09 New Yorker. It's all about the craft of making drama out of characters. And makes a great companion to the George Clooney piece of April 14, '08 ("Somebody Has to Be in Control").

And the couple Updike poems on p. 93 this week are dead amazing. Haven't read the others yet.
