to an unknown audience
Augusto Boal, a Brazilian theatre director who created a socially-active, interactive theatre form designed to let the oppressed examine oppression and facility community dialogue, left his home country of Brazil after being tortured by the government for his activism in theatre. The era of military rule in Brazil had been over for 15 years when I met him in 2000. He said (and I paraphrase):
When I was being tortured by some men in the Brazilian government, there was one man who was doing the torture, and there were two other men in the room who looked at me and said, "You remember our faces; remember that he is doing this to you and not us," because they knew that one day that regime would fall and there would be punishment for those that took part in it. They thought that they were excused from blame because they were not holding the instruments. But they stood by and did not stop what was going on.

Houston always was Clemens' most logical choice. He can stay home and follow his own program, remain in the same organization as his son, Class A third baseman Koby Clemens http://mike-18.blogspot.com/

The Astros have been in even worse shape, using three starters with less than two years of major-league experience. Signing Clemens to go with right-hander Roy Oswalt and left-hander Andy Pettitte again gives them a legitimate Big Three once again. If Clemens, after several minor-league tuneups, proves anywhere near as good as he was last season, he will give the team precisely the lift it needs.
