The revolution, then kids/  /August 04, 2011

Everyone had a kid when they felt the revolution was over. We had been electrified by the feeling of a new generation coming up. It was going to supplant the old slog with better ways. Life would get easier, but never fast enough. We'd always be fighting for wifi.

Wifi was put in everywhere and the future lived up to our dreams, modulo jetpacks. We were comfortable and privileged. The only new kind of challenge was a baby challenge. Life with babies will prove more difficult than imagined, and soon there will be a new generation coming up to turn us over.
