If children learn it, and teach it to their children, then it becomes a natural language.

But as it stands, it has an "artifical" character, yes?

For it to become a natural language, must these children modify it in some way? Does the shape of the language have to change in order for it to progress from artificial to natural?

If generational passage is a prerequisite to "natural" language status, I think modification is also an implied prerequisite, as it's impossible for language to pass from one generation to the next without changing somewhat.
