Two kids were flirting on the subway; they weren't so young that they'd have to be living at home; maybe college-age.
"Oh, I know what I want to do today!" (she said jubilantly)
"What?" (he giggled)
"Watch the Ewok movie!"
He laughed hard (as I would, too, in that situation). "What?"
"Watch the Ewok movie!"
"What's that?"
"The one about the Ewoks." (both falling over themselves with silliness)
"What the hell is an Ewok?"
!
?
The unspoken subtext of this exchange is "Let's get stoned and watch the Ewok Movie," Ezra, you old fuddy-duddy you.
No, I think he really didn't know what an Ewok is. His cultural literacy is stupendously lacking. I shudder to think what this young man will do to society when he becomes a "productive" adult (if one can even imagine a productive adult who does not know the single greatest cultural artifact of the present era). He probably doesn't know Murmur, either!
and I bet they weren't talking about the made-for-TV Ewok Adventure movies.
Nobody really knows what an Ewok is until they have watched the Ewok Movie with a head full of ganja.
Good blog! I like your posting style, so your wording. It's good that people are so different and everyone has his own story.
Howdy, I sow Your link at one page and I want to say only - i agree with You and dont forget keep up the good working!
