Gorgeous and disgusting—that's Amores Perros (Mexico, 2000). It's loud, it moves, it's visceral, the dialogue is sharp, it's funny; each piece is delicately plotted. It rewards the viewer's attention. It has young and old, it has lots of gross dogs. It is just about everything a movie should be. Expectations are 9/10ths of ruining a movie, so I won't say more. But it is the best movie in months. 'Nuff said.
