What exactly does the Guardian mean when it says, "Salam Pax's first Baghdad Blog will appear next Wednesday"?

They refer to his contribution to the newspaper—is an online newspaper now considered a form of weblog? Or is this true in the same way that MTV invites us to "join" them "for Spring Break in Malibu"? An exciting, messy, new form is acquired by the old barons, fitted to their existing equipment, and re-sold under the newer rubrick: "At last! Validation!" cry the now-appropriated.

In further Iraq-under-the-Empire news, someone named Caleb Crain has posted some awesome pictures of Iraqi tea [thanks Scripting News]. Sounds like the Iraqis have figured out how to apply to tea that adorable Turkish coffee proverb—you know, "Coffee should be as black as night, as strong as death, and as sweet as love."

The Astros have been in even worse shape, using three starters with less than two years of major-league experience. Signing Clemens to go with right-hander Roy Oswalt and left-hander Andy Pettitte again gives them a legitimate Big Three once again. If Clemens, after several minor-league tuneups, proves anywhere near as good as he was last season, he will give the team precisely the lift it needs.
